Take your shoes off before you enter
This will reduce toxicants like pesticides and traffic-related air pollutants being tracked onto carpets.
Get rid of the clutter
It restricts air flow, increases the dust load and encourages house dust mites and pests.
Use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter and motorized head
This reduces the allergen load (house dust mites, mold, pet and pest dander) in the home.
Dust your home
Use a slightly damp microfibre cloth followed by a clean, dry tea towel.
Reduce the chemical load in your home
Air fresheners, perfume, pesticides, solvents, paints, cleaning and personal care products contribute to poor indoor air quality.
Use the sun
To air pillows and mattresses, pet bedding, chopping boards and soft toys.
Toss the plastic
Store food and beverages in glass, stainless steel and lead-free ceramics. Avoid plastics, pewter, highly colored ceramics, ceramics with a corroded glaze and leaded crystal.
Keep a safe distance from EMFs
Ensure electrical appliances are at least 1 meter away from your bed, favorite couch and any other areas where you spend time in order to reduce your exposure to electromagnetic fields.
Filter your water
Chlorine and fluoride in drinking water are associated with health risks. If you don’t get a filter, you will be the filter!
Avoid excess moisture
As it encourages the growth of mold and mildew. Check areas for moisture accumulation or leaks (particularly basements). Regularly clean surfaces where mold usually grows – around showers and tubs and beneath sinks.
bonus tip…
Get it tested!
If you notice your health deteriorating, make sure your home is free of EMFs, poor air quality, water contaminants, mold, noise and vibration by getting it tested.
